Dentures

Overview

Complete dentures are what we think of as “false teeth.” They are also called full dentures, and they are used if all of your natural teeth have been extracted. Complete dentures are removable and are held in place by suction or adhesive. It is normal to require time to adapt to the dentures. Complete dentures are stiff and take some time to get used. They can often cause soreness when they are first placed, but after a short time most people get used to the feeling. Complete dentures are a great way to have a full smile even after you’ve lost all of your teeth. They can improve your confidence, and they allow you to eat and speak easier. Denture One offers complete dentures to help you regain confidence and improve your overall health.

Types of Full Dentures

  • Full Upper & Lower Dentures - Conventional dentures are made and inserted after your teeth have been extracted and after the healing period is complete and are also continuously replaceable as bone continues to resorb and teeth continue to wear, altering the correct the correct dimensions of the jaw relationship

  • Immediate Dentures - Immediate dentures will be made before your teeth are removed. They are based on the measurements taken and are inserted immediately after your teeth are extracted.

Partial Dentures

Overview

A partial denture is a denture made to replace some missing teeth in either both or the upper or lower part of your mouth. Sometimes a partial denture is required in one part of your moth, simply for appearance however often, it is required for chewing ability. Partial dentures are able to be worn to support an opposing full denture.

What are Partial dentures made from?

  • Acrylic, Nylon or Cast Metal, here at DentureOne, we use Acrylic and Cast Metal.

  • Acrylic Partial Dentures are of lower cost and easier to repair, reline or modify.

  • Cast Metal Dentures are thinner and smaller in the mouth and offer greater strength, stability and support for remaining teeth

Implant Retained Dentures

Overview

  • Also known as “dentures over implants,” implant-supported dentures bring back the look, feel and function of your natural teeth. This type of denture uses a surgically-inserted root device to perfectly mimic the function of your tooth’s natural root — no loose or slipping dentures here!

Religns & Repairs

Overview

  • Get to the fit, function and comfort you’ve been missing with a denture reline! You can have your existing dentures relined to better conform to your gums.

  • While dentures are made of strong materials, they are still prone to damage over time, especially if they are not replaced as necessary. Broken dentures make eating and talking very difficult, so you should try to get your dentures repaired as soon as you notice a problem.

    Soft Liner

  • Over time, the underlying bone material underneath your gums begins to shrink. This process, known as “resorption,” can cause your dentures to uncomfortably shift along the surface of the gums instead of staying in place. You may also hear a clicking sound while you speak or eat.

Soft-liners are ideal for those with flat or nearly flat gum tissues, gums with spots of thin tissue over bony areas or those with chronically sore gums.
